Acclimation Instructions
At Cichlid Colors Fish Room, we value our customers and their satisfaction. Please read all directions before proceeding with acclimation.
Important factor to consider before acclimation process: All fish are highly stressed after their long journey in shipping. Therefore, if you add the new tank mates to an existing group of fish that are aggressive, the existing fish will most likely stress out and pick on the new inhabitants. It is recommended to put new fish in an isolated holding tank to ensure optimum recovery after shipping. (This is just a recommendation). Please use your best judgement, as we can only warranty your fish up to when you receive them and before the bags have been opened.
Directions for acclimation
Step 1: Turn off your tank lights.
Step 2: Remove fish bag from box.
Step 3: Float fish bag for 15 minutes to acclimate temperatures.
Step 4: Cut open fish bag carefully, and then immediately pour fish and water into net. Keep a 5 gallon bucket below fish net to collect the excess water. Ensure that once the fish is in the net, it gets put directly into your aquarium or holding tank.
Step 5: Dispose of excess water.DO NOT PUT ANY BAG WATER INTO AQUARIUM.

Important Note: Do not drip acclimate fish water. This will lead to ammonia burn! This will do severe damage to the fish and will most likely lead to death.

Also, ensure that once fish bag is cut open, the fish must be removed from the bag water within 10-15 seconds to prevent ammonia burn.
